2025

@jason

Why are we doing this again?

@linda

It. Was. Your. Idea.

And that joke wasn’t even that funny last year.

@jason

Not funny? I think you need to chill out and relax.

@linda

Maybe you should take me back to Padre so I can relax.

@jason

Padre was pretty awesome. Beach, beer. It was, in fact, Merry and Bright…see what I did there?

@linda

[rolls eyes]

@jason

Our Christmas card?

@linda

[sighs] Yes, Jason, we all get it.

@jason

Anyways, it was a well-earned break after getting your book published!

@linda

My book!

@jason

Your book!

@linda

What should I tell people about my book?

@jason

“Available for purchase now!”

Still not sure why we didn’t give everyone role sheets for Christmas like we talked about.

@linda

It’s not too late for that!

@jason

I feel like Mom would really lean into being a hostess of a 19th century Russian literary salon.

@linda

I love it! But Peggy is way more spry at 80 than Elena Shtakenshneider ever was.

@jason

The big 8-0!

@linda

That was a great party!

[laughs] But I’m still disappointed we didn’t get a conga line going around the whole restaurant.

@jason

Surprising for sure. Heck, it was even in Mimi Bingo! But she did get to dance with Bridger!

@linda

Well, Mimi wants to see as much of Bridger as she can before he’s off to study abroad in Buenos Aires.

@jason

Don’t cry for Mimi, Argentina.

@linda

I think we’ll be the ones crying when we don’t have our favorite tall nephew coming over to get things down from the top shelf.

@jason

What are we going to do when he graduates?! I can’t believe he’s a Junior.

@linda

And our favorite niece is in her first year at Auburn. She is really loving the Auburn experience. Go War Eagles!

@jason

So excited for her and proud of her!

But “Go War Eagles”? I mean, we adore Aspen, but as Longhorns, are we allowed to say that?

@linda

Iffy, for sure.

But it’s and OU still sucks.

@jason

Bridger will be so proud.

@linda

Can I help it if it’s been 5483 days since A&M beat Texas?

@jason

@jason

Always so excited to see how those outstanding victories are reflected in my paycheck. [rolls eyes]

Marjean Lillethun, 1944 - 2025

My Aunt Marjean passed away in November this year. I really looked up to her as a kid, I have so many great memories of visiting her. She loved food and the holidays; she always wanted to talk about who was cooking what. At Easter, she used to make this coconut cake shaped like a bunny with jelly beans on it. I’m really going to miss her. And my thoughts are with my cousins.
